Goodcents Foundation Announces New Efforts Moving Forward

Kansas City (KC and MO) are two of the First Beneficiaries of Efforts

De Soto, KS – Goodcents Foundation announced today several new initiatives in its ongoing mission to develop sustainable educational programs that teach life skills.

Goodcents Foundation Executive Director, Stacy Glazer announced two key initiatives.

Goodcents Foundation Teaching Gardens

Founded in 1999 and located at seven schools in the area in which Goodcents® was founded, Goodcents Teaching Gardens (formerly KCK Organic Teaching Gardens) were inspired by Missouri-born botanist and agriculture experimentalist George Washington Carver.

“These community gardens demonstrate and educate where our food comes from, how we can grow our own food and how all of nature works together in an ecosystem,” Glazer says.

Thelma’s Kitchen

Goodcents Foundation donates bread to Thelma’s Kitchen, ensuring an ample, fresh and consistent product that will be used daily for Thelma’s Kitchen famous offerings.

Glazer adds, “Goodcents Foundation’s partnership with Thelma’s Kitchen offers the opportunity to volunteer and learn why and how to integrate every member of the community into the workplace.”
